NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 11- President Uhuru Kenyatta has appointed Nzioka Waita to be deputy to the State House Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua.

According to a circular issued to all ministries and state agencies, President Kenyatta issued an executive order on Wednesday this week making the appointment.

Under his new position, Waita “will now be in charge of the President’s Delivery Unit, the Office of the Budget Management, Performance Contracting and Oversight Office and State Corporations Oversight Office.”

Waita has been serving as a Senior Advisor to the President and the Secretary, Presidential Delivery Unit.

Waita is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya of 14 years standing, a member of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) and a Certified Public of Secretaries of Kenya (ICPSK).

He has held several senior leadership roles in the private sector with the most recent being the Director of Corporate Affairs at Safaricom, a position he held for four years prior to joining the Government.

Waita has also held a number of non-executive director roles on the Boards of Alpha Africa Asset Managers and The East African Marine Cable System.
