Police are investigating Senator Moses Wetangula

NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 6 – Police officers are undertaking a probe against Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula and his wife after they filed different cases accusing each other of assault.

Wetangula’s wife initially reported the matter to police on February 21 over the alleged assault while the Senator, in a rejoinder, filed a case against her on a similar charge.

A senior detective privy to the ongoing investigations says the matter is currently under Karen police station where the said offence occurred.

“We are still investigating the matter against both parties,” he told Capital FM News.

Detectives in Langata first launched investigations before the case was transferred to Karen police station.

“She complained of having sustained injuries on hands, chest and legs,” reads a section of the police medical examination report.

According to the report, she sought treatment at Karen hospital but was discharged on the same day.

The Senator on the same day went to the police station where he filed the complaint against his wife.

“He had accused his wife of infidelity,” it reads. “This is when according to him; his wife became furious and attacked him. As a result, he alleged to have sustained injuries on his head, left hand, left leg and chest.”

He was also treated at Karen Hospital, “and later issued with a P3 form.”
