NAIROBI, Kenya Feb 16 – President Uhuru Kenyatta was on Tuesday set to officiate the pass-out parade of the Kenya Prisons recruits at their Ruiru college, in the outskirts of Nairobi.

Commissioner of Prisons Isaiah Osugo said 3000 recruits will be graduating from the college after nine months of intense training.

President Kenyatta on Friday officiated the pass out parade of new police officers who graduated from Kiganjo, with plans underway for a similar exercise at the General Service Unit and Administration Police colleges later in the week.

The government has said it plans to hire more police officers this year to boost the numbers as part of measures to restore confidence in the public.
