Murkomen further told her that attempts to cause conflict in Jubilee will not work/FILE
NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 24 – Senator Kipchumba Murkomen on Wednesday said a law firm linked to him was not a contractor or supplier of the National Youth Service as implied by former CS Anne Waiguru.
He said at no time was the law firm contracted by NYS.
“I wish to also make it clear that at no time was the law firm Sing’oei, Murkomen & Sigei Advocates a contractor or supplier of NYS,” he stated.
He advised Waiguru to focus on claims made by businesswoman Josephine Kabura and stop the sideshows of dragging him into the saga that has hit the headlines on a daily basis.
Murkomen further told her that attempts to cause conflict in Jubilee will not work.
“My personal advice to the CS is to stick to the questions raised by and account for her tenure without resorting to diversionary tactics and pitting the coalition partners against each other. That will not work as we are above that.”
He further denied allegations that he was part of the team that worked to the eviction of Waiguru from the Devolution docket. “For the record I was not part of the group that is claimed to have been orchestrating her removal from office. Her insinuation that I was also part of her impeachment proceedings could not be further from the truth.”
On Tuesday, Waiguru filed an affidavit turning the guns on fellow Jubilee heavyweights Adan Duale, Murkomen and Deputy President William Ruto’s Personal Assistant, Farouk Kibet.
She accused them of threatening her and Adan Harakhe in an attempt to cover up payments at the NYS and alleged that her persecution stemmed from her refusal to abet criminal activities of the three.
She alleged that they were working with former NYS director General Nelson Githinji and former Permanent Secretary Peter Mangiti to fight her.
