NAIROBI, Kenya Nov 14 – A Tanzanian man was on Saturday lynched after allegedly killing his roommate in Ongata Rongai, police and witnesses.

Witnesses said the two started fighting after differing over food, but police said they will investigate the incident further.

Resident attracted by the commotion are said to have rushed to the scene where they found the man already dead, before they attacked his colleague with stones.

“He at first denied killing him, but the blood stains on his hands betrayed him,” a witness said, “that is when he was attacked and forced to show them the knife he used.”

He was later stoned as he tried to escape, and died a few meters from his house.
Police were later called and took the bodies to the mortuary.

“We will now rely on witnesses to get to the bottom of this matter,” a police officer who visited the scene said.
