NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 26 – Pope Francis has urged Kenyans to maintain peace and love to each other while remaining obedient to God as he conducted mass at the University of Nairobi.
He has appealed to the youth to build a society that is more just and inclusive to all, while urging the faithful show genuine concern for the poor.
President Uhuru Kenyatta, his Deputy William Ruto, former President Mwai Kibaki, opposition leaders Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula among others are also attending the mass.
The gates to the grounds were opened as early as 4am, while many more others are following the proceedings from their homes or giant screens mounted at strategic locations.
Some of the people with accreditation cards have complained that they had difficulties accessing the venue, despite assurance that they will be given priority.
