NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 25 – The Public Accounts Committee is mulling issuance of summons to compel IEBC chairman Issack Hassan to appear and respond to queries surrounding the procurement of Biometric Voter Registration (BVR) kits used in the last elections.

Committee chairman Nicholas Gumbo said the committee was angered by Hassan’s unavailability because he is undertaking foreign trips.

He said the IEBC chairman has failed to honour three invitations including Tuesday’s where his office wrote to PAC saying he is out of the country.

Gumbo said they will not allow the IEBC to take the National Assembly for granted in its mandate to oversight the use of public funds allocated to institutions.
