NAIROBI, Kenya, Jun 24 – President Uhuru Kenyatta is conducting a tour of the cash-strapped Mumias Sugar Company in Western Kenya where the government has injected Sh1 billion for its revival.

The Head of State is accompanied by his deputy William Ruto and other top government officials.

They were received by key MPs and Senators from the region, including Boni Khalwale and Senate Minority leader Moses Wetangula who have been advocating for the revival of the sugar firm.

President Kenyatta has warned against politicising the government’s involvement in rescuing the company because it is being done to benefit Kenyans.
