, NAIROBI, Kenya, Jun 29 – Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission detectives on Monday arrested a senior police officer in Tigania West for allegedly soliciting Sh35,000 from a teacher who had a court case.

The District Criminal Investigation Officer (DCIO) is alleged to have demanded for the cash promising not to write a letter recommending interdiction to the Teachers Service Commission.

The teacher recorded their conversation with the officer after reporting the case on Friday last week.

The officer is due to be charged in court on Tuesday.
