NAIROBI, Kenya, Jun 6 – Political Analyst Tony Gachoka is being detained at the Industrial Area Remand Prison after he failed to pay a Sh2 million fine slapped on him for contempt of court.

Sources told Capital FM News that he was making efforts to raise the money to secure his release.

Gachoka and Talk Show Host Jeff Koinange were ordered by the court to pay the fine or spend six months in jail for the contempt of court.

Koinange was released after he paid the Sh2 million whereas Gachoka found himself at a fix after he failed to raise the cash.

Gachoka and Koinange in March during a talk show linked Jimi Wanjigi’s company to the Anglo Leasing scandal despite a court order barring them from discussing the matter.

Wanjigi had obtained an injunction against the subject being discussed on the Jeff Koinange Live (JKL) talk-show which the two defied.
