NAIROBI, Kenya Jun 23 – Traders in Nairobi’s Gikomba market were on Tuesday counting losses after fire engulfed their stalls, a week after a similar incident.

The fire is reported to have started at about 3 am from the section facing Landhies Road, according to police.

“How are we going to do business here, fire after another, we now grounded literally,” a second hand clothes dealer said.

Police and the Kenya Red Cross society personnel said no major casualty has been reported in the incident apart from minor injuries traders sustained while trying to salvage their property.

Nairobi Traffic Commandant Edward Mwamburi said the situation has not affected traffic flow around the area but he is urging motorists to approach the area with caution.
