Forces of impunity have won – Ababu

“I made this offer sometime back to share information within my position to EACC in respect to issues in the (defunct) Public Accounts Committee,” he said.

He assured the country that he will support EACC until the truth is known despite his life being under threat due to the magnitude of the cases.

“I am very pleased that the war against corruption has started…in this whole battle I am walking in the right side of history to work with EACC,” he said.

He said the information he shared was a confirmation of his willingness to assist the ongoing investigations saying, “it will provide the EACC with a very strong position to take action.”

He however challenged the anti-graft body to work within the set timeline of 60 days.

“Action must be seen moving from Integrity Centre to the corridors of justice,” he said.

The Budalang’i Member of Parliament also presented to EACC three reports including the Hustler’s Jet Report for investigations.

“My concern is that it is inconceivable and it is actually illustration of impunity that the Hustler’s Jet Report which I tabled in the House in April 2014 exactly one year ago has never been debated,” he lamented.

“This to me is an indictment on the leadership of the House and it goes to show that the problem that we are grappling with is a much deeper than merely sacrificing a committee of the House so that you can appear to be clean. The problem is much deeper.”
