NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 27 – Several former Cabinet Ministers are among 300 individuals appointed by President Uhuru Kenyatta to chair various parastatals.
Among the appointees are Soita Shitanda who will be the chairperson of the Agricultural Development Corporation. Omingo Magara has been appointed to be chairperson of the Kenyatta International Convention Centre for a period of three years.
Former Minister Henry Obwocha has been appointed chairperson of the Privatization Commission also for a period of three years with effect from April, 17 2015.
Conservationist Dr Richard Leakey returns to the Kenya Wildlife Service Board as chairperson.
Former Cabinet Minister Samuel Poghisio has been appointed chairperson of the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority Board.

Others are Marsden Madoka who has been appointed chairperson of the Board of the Kenya Ports Authority.
Musikari Kombo has been appointed chairperson of the Water Services Trust Fun for a period of three years.

Also in the list of appointees are top lawyers Kennedy Ogeto who is the chairperson of the Anti-Money Laundering Advisory Board. His colleague
His fellow lawyer Gershom Otachi has been appointed chairperson of Geothermal Development Company.
The Kenya Pipeline Company Board Directors will be chaired by John Ngumi for the next three years while the Anti-Counterfeit Agency Board will be chaired by Polycarp Igathe.
The Cabinet Secretary for Industrialization and Enterprise Development has also appointed Judy Kibaki, Peter Njoka, Taib A. Taib, Gachao Kiuna, Esther J. Bungei, and Sanda Ojiambo to be members of the Board of the Kenya Investment Authority for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the April 17, 2015.
Also in the list of appointments are Kavi Mwendwa, Charles Gacheru, Johana Muchai who will serve on the Board of Kenyatta International Convention Centre for period of three years.
The list of appointees also include Raila Odinga’s sister Dr Wenwa Akinyi Odinga who previously served as a diplomat in the United States.
She has been appointed alongside Dr Joseph Mutai to be members of the Board of the Kenya Medical Research Institute, for a period of three years.
Also in the list of appointees is former assistant minister Raphael Wanjala who will serve on the Board of Directors of Nzoia Sugar Company Limited Kenya for a period of three years alongside Kennedy Simiyu Chumo, Mary Nawire Waiswa, John Murumba Chikati (Dr) and Rebecca Mulongo.
