NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 5 – A businessman was shot dead early Thursday in what police suspect to be an execution on Nairobi’s Forest Road.
The incident occurred at about 2am when the businessman was driving on the road with a female companion.
When police arrived at the scene, they said they found the woman lying helpless next to the man’s blood-soaked body in the car, long after the gunmen had fled.
The woman too suffered a gunshot wound to the head and has not been able to speak to police officers to narrate what may have happened but police have confirmed that nothing was stolen from the two.
Police are yet to establish the motive of the gang-land style killing.
News reports suggested that the man was shot 15 times.
In a separate incident, a man was shot dead during a robbery in Nairobi’s Lang’ata estate also on Thursday.
According to police, the man was gunned down as he raised alarm as the thugs escaped after committing the robbery.
The gunmen were escaping after a 6am robbery at an apartment within Ng’eno estate when they met the man outside.
