The Wednesday event was however hard to contain given the large number who turned up and the vehicle that carried the body sped off as members of the public ran after it.

This followed a requiem mass held at the Maxwell SDA church at which Kajwang was eulogised by Raila as selfless.

“He was a polite person, loved people and more so very generous—whenever he said, let us do this he stood by that—that was the kind of person Kajwang’ was,” he remembered.

Kajwang is to be laid to rest in his at his family home in Waondo, Mbita constituency on Friday.
