We must solve our own problems – Uhuru urges African countries

“Borders should not act as obstacles to movement of people. Your leadership will determine how the potential in Africa can be tapped for the benefit of the continent and the world,” Ruto said.

Zimbabwean High Commissioner to Kenya, Kelebert Nkomani, said security and terrorism were the two major challenges to social economic development in the continent.

Nkomani, who is the Dean of African Diplomatic Corps in the country, lauded the frontline role Kenya played in the fight against terror and told African countries to pool resources to confront the challenges facing the continent.

He acknowledged the leading role President Kenyatta has continued to play in peace building and conflict resolutions in the Horn of Africa and the Great Lakes regions.

Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed said Kenya’s economic and social-political future lies on the continent and not elsewhere.
