“Those who are opposed to harambees are not serious on issues of development. We cannot develop schools without raising funds through harambees,” said Murkomen.
They said leaders at the county level must be ready to be accountable to resources under their watch noting that public funds must be used for the intended projects.
Governor Goyo said Isiolo County leaders have resolved to work together in solving the problems facing the residents saying time for politics was over.
“Your Excellency, as leaders from not only Isiolo County but the North Eastern region in general, we want to assure you that we are behind the Government in its commitment to improving the lives of the people of Kenya. We do not have time for empty rhetoric,” said Duba.
