NAIROBI, Kenya, July 28 – A Nairobi court has now revised cash bail for blogger Seth Odongo alias Dikembe Disembe to Sh500,000 down from the initial Sh2 million.

This follows an application by a team of lawyers led by James Orengo who convinced the magistrate that the earlier amount was too high for the blogger.

Senior Principal Magistrate Anna Ndungu alternatively allowed Odongo to post a Sh2 million surety bond from the initial Sh5 million.

The blogger has been at the Industrial Area Prison Remand since last week when he was charged with intent to stir ethnic animosity through remarks he posted on his Facebook page over the Lamu killings.

The case will now be mentioned on August 8
