“Look at how the West does it. They sort their garbage from the household level. Why can’t our garbage collectors adopt that, recycle the plastic and have an additional source of revenue right there?” she poses.
Steiner and Wakhungu both clearly aware of where the problems lie, as do the solutions. But to bring it back to Steiner’s opening remarks, “why isn’t it followed through?” Might it be a case of the environment always being someone else’s problem?
