NAIROBI, Kenya, May 8 – As Usalama Watch operation continues, police have arrested over 80 Congolese nationals in various parts of Nairobi for lacking proper documents.

They were arrested on Wednesday night and now await to undergo screening at the Safaricom Kasarani Stadium.

There was drama at the Kasarani Police Station when an officer tried to escort them from the cells to a waiting lorry for screening at the stadium, when he was attacked by the aliens who stole his smartphone but it was later recovered.

The Senior Sergeant of Police sustained injuries on his hand and left leg.

“They were refusing to get out of the cells because they don’t want to be repatriated. We reinforced the team and took them to Kasarani for screening,” a senior officer involved in the operation stated.

The Government has vowed to continue with the operation until the country is free from illegal aliens and criminals.

Over 3,000 illegal aliens have been arrested, screened and explosives recovered during the month-long operation.

Meanwhile, police are hunting down a 55-year-old man who allegedly murdered his 45-year-old girlfriend at Kayole Soweto slum before fleeing.

Neighbours discovered the woman’s body as the main door to the house was left wide open.

The troubled couple is said to have had a habit of battering each other once they returned from a drinking den nearby.
