Westgate terrorist wanted to marry in Kenya

On March 3, the deputy officer-in-charge of the Nairobi detachment of the ATPU, Newton Mwiti, told the court that following the analysis of five Safaricom SIM card holders recovered in the vehicle used by the four gunmen who attacked Westgate, they were able to track Noor’s movements.

“The cell phone number (0726658736) was active in Kenya and Uganda from June 17, 2013. I was able to confirm that indeed he was registered as a refugee at Dadaab Refugee Camp and transferred to Kakuma Refugee Camp and that he enrolled at Gambella Primary School in 2010 as a class five pupil and taken away by the mother in December for the same year back to Somali,” he testified.

Ali was the 25th prosecution witness to testify in the case facing Mohamed Abdi, Liban Omar, Adan Mohamed and Hussein Mustafah and followed four witnesses who gave their testimonies in camera on account of their protected status.
