LSK rejects planned Anglo Leasing payments

The paper work was promptly delivered to the joint committee by National Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich.

The proceedings are expected to be brought to the House during Wednesday afternoon’s sitting before the National Assembly proceeds on a month long recess.

Two companies First Mercantile Securities Corporation and Universal Satspace moved to court in Switzerland and the United Kingdom and got judgment compelling the government of Kenya to pay them.

The two were contracted to supply broadband network and bandwidth network projects to the Postal Corporation of Kenya between 1997 and 2002.

Over the weekend, Deputy President William Ruto said that the government will not pay the owners of Anglo Leasing any cash.
