NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 19 – Olive Telecommunications has now moved to court to contest the decision by the Public Procurement and Review Board to cancel the Sh24.6bn laptop tender awarded to it.

Consequently, the Indian firm wants the procuring entity restrained from proceeding with the fresh tender review process for two firms pending hearing and determination of the case.

Olive had won the tender for the supply, delivery, installation and commissioning of primary schools laptops before it was cancelled over various irregularities committed by the Education Ministry’s tender committee.

The Public Procurement and Review Board directed the ministry to review tender documents for HP and Haier Electrical Appliances within 45 days from March 11.
