NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 25 – The Speaker of the Kiambu County Assembly Nick Ndichu has been removed from office, following the approval of a Motion by Members of the County Assembly.

The Motion to send Ndichu home was approved by 69 votes against 13 votes.

There was one abstention while three Members of the County Assembly were absent.

The vote stems from alleged misuse of County Assembly funds and purported arrogance.

The impeachment Motion was tabled by majority leader Simon Komu who accused Ndichu of abuse of office.

Ndichu had survived an attempt last year by the MCAs to oust him.
