The morning and mid morning sessions had seen Ruto’s co accused, Joshua arap Sang, cast aspersions into the witness’s statement saying the dates he gave on certain events were fake.
Through his lead lawyer Katwa Kigen, Sang put the witness to task over when the Kalenjin Council of Elders was formed informing him that it was established in 2009 and not before the 2007 General Election as claimed.
And despite the fact that Kigen gave him audio recordings to prove his arguments, the witness would not budge.
Kigen: Having seen that this broadcast was September 2009 would you admit that you could be mistaken as to when the council of elders was composed?
Witness: Even though it was 18 September 2009, there was a journey of when it started.
Kigen also revealed that Ruto first appealed for peace on January 1, 2008 on Kass FM, putting a damper on the perception that the witness had created to the effect that Ruto was late in calling for peace.
