NAIROBI Kenya, Dec 30- Standard eight candidates who sat for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations will know their fate on Tuesday.

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) is set to release the results for over 800,000 pupils who sat for the KCPE examinations at Mtihani House, the commission’s headquarters in Nairobi.

“The Kenya National Examinations Council wishes to inform parents/guardians, candidates, stakeholders and the general public that the 2013 KCPE examination results will be released on Tuesday 31st December 2013,” the council announced in a paid up advertisement on local dailies earlier last week.

The results will be released by Education Cabinet Secretary Jacob Kaimenyi.

Candidates have been asked to be ready to get their results through mobile phones via SMS code number 6062, once the results are released.

“The SMS will only be charged upon receipt of the examination results. Therefore, subscribers are advised to send one SMS and wait for the examination results before sending another one,” the council said.

The results will also be available on the council Website www.knec.ac.ke after the release.

This represents an increase of 24,220 candidates, or a 2.95 per cent rise.
