NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 30 – A human head and two hands were on Thursday evening found outside the National Police Service Commission headquarters on University Way.

Guards said they first saw the carton at 4 pm but didn’t suspect anything until 7pm when they decided to report the matter to the police.

CID bomb disposal unit experts were then called after it was suspected to be a bomb only to find the human head and hands when it was opened at about 9pm.

On the carton, there was a warning to a top police official with his name indicated saying, “you’re next.”

Nairobi police chief Benson Kibui told Capital FM News that the matter was being investigated while another officer said that a headless body had earlier in the day been found in Ruai.

The officer said that police were probing a possible link in the incidents.

The remains were all taken to City Mortuary.

Insecurity in the country have been soaring and top police officials have not been left out.

On August 12, a police officer attached to the anti stock theft unit was shot in Nairobi’s CBD as he shopped for his brother’s wedding before succumbing to injuries the following day.

And then on August 4, a senior CID officer was allegedly shot dead by his colleagues in mysterious circumstances in Kitui town.

The officer, Chief Inspector Zebedeo Maina, once headed the Kwekwe and Eagle police squads behind the crackdown of Mungiki members.

Other police officers who served alongside Maina in these squads have also died in unclear circumstances.
