More blood and jeers at Parliament over pay

Mwangi had earlier posted an eight point code of conduct for participants of the demonstrations reminding them to maintain peace while assuring the nation that there would be no live insects, animals or reptiles.

And the activists remained true to the code of conduct and some even gave police officers red roses. Some of the officers were charmed by the roses and others flatly rejected them.

But somewhere along the way, some protestors seemed to lose the plot. They started pelting motorists with ‘big’ cars with the bloody bags.

At some point, an activist actually attempted to climb Parliament’s fence yelling anti-MP sentiments before he was yanked down by law enforcers.

“The police officers who are babysitting us have not even had lunch and the MPs that they are protecting are eating lunch. They are busy drinking milk and eating meat and chicken. But what do we have to eat?” asked Odhiambo.

The activists were also forced to devise other ways of bringing their bloody bags to Parliament after police officers refused to let their trucks in.

Eventually they got a private van to bring the offensive items but the van’s driver erred when he forgot to lock his car and a police man removed the car keys from the ignition.

“Key! Key! Key! Key!” chanted the crowds as they demanded to get back the van’s keys.

Well, it remained business as usual for the Members of the National Assembly who used other entrances to access the parliamentary buildings.

Those who will not be having a very good day at work however, are the county cleaners who will once again have to clean the mess left outside Parliament.
