NAIROBI, Apr 18 – Gunmen in the volatile eastern Kenya town of Garissa on Thursday night shot and killed six people, police said.
“Six people have been killed after people armed with guns stormed a hotel,” a police officer told AFP adding that a security operation was underway to track the attackers.
The police officer could not give further details since he is not authorised to talk on behalf of the police.
Regional police chief Charlton Mureithi confirmed the incident but could not give more details.
