Beeld newspaper, citing unnamed residents who had spoken to security guards, said covergirl Reeva Steenkamp was shot four times through a bathroom door.
The report has not been confirmed by police.
The Afrikaans paper on Thursday broke the story of Pistorius being arrested for allegedly shooting his model girlfriend, but its early accounts that the star sprinter had mistaken Steenkamp for an intruder have been rubbished by police.
Pistorius became an international celebrity during last year’s London Olympics, inspiring millions as he became the first double-amputee to compete against able-bodied athletes.
