, NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 30 – Jubilee Alliance’s flag bearer Uhuru Kenyatta has become the fifth candidate to be cleared to contest in the March 4 presidential race.

Kenyatta said his coalition will ensure a smooth and peaceful election and he will accept the decision of Kenyans.

The Jubilee candidate denied reports that he was using State resources in his campaigns.

“It is well known that the both myself and my running mate William Ruto have been out of office for sometime. If anybody is using State resources then you need to look at the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) arrangement,” he told reporters after receiving his clearance certificate from the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

Kenyatta said he preferred the name Uhuru Kenyatta to appear on the ballot paper while his running mate said he prefers the name William Samoei Ruto as opposed to his full name William Kipchichir Samoei Ruto which appears on his national identity card.

Kenyatta and Ruto have now embarked on daylong tour of Zimmerman, Kahawa West and Githurai.
