Raila speaks to CCTV editor Emmanuel Talam/DOMNIC ODHIAMBO-PMPS

NAIROBI, Kenya, May 8 – Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Tuesday consoled journalists from the Nation Media Group and China Central TV currently admitted at the Nairobi Hospital following an accident two weeks ago.

Odinga visited Nation TV News Editor Richard Chacha, China Central TV (CCTV) Editor Emmanuel Talam and Nation Media Group’s Frida Kirema who are recuperating in the Hospital.

The PM wished the journalists quick recovery, saying the country needs them at this critical time.

“I have seen worse cases, and I am confident that our friends will recover,” Odinga told Chacha’s wife, Florence Nyambura.

The PM was out of the country when the journalists were involved in an accident.

Emmanuel Talam explained that all of them were recovering well and looked forward to leaving the hospital soon.

He thanked the PM for taking time to visit and comfort them in the hospital adding that the move had greatly boosted their optimism.

The PM recalled that he too had been admitted to the same hospital with severe headache that turned out to be a result of pressure on the brain following an injury.

He said the kind of operation he underwent was similar to what Talam had gone through and expressed confidence that the journalists are getting good treatment.
