The Google+ Hangout will begin at 3:30pm New York City time/XINHUA

SAN FRANCISCO, April 9, 2012 (AFP) – UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is scheduled to take part in a public video chat “hangout” at Google’s social network on Tuesday with young people from around the world.

The Google+ Hangout will begin at 3:30pm New York City time (19:30 GMT) and be streamed live online at youtube.com/unitednations, Google spokesman Dex Torricke-Barton said in a blog post.

“Voices of the next generation will have the chance to participate in an exclusive global conversation with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon via a Google+ Hangout from the United Nations headquarters,” Torricke-Barton said.

Youths from Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, and the United States will be able to “ask questions on issues that matter to them,” in a session moderated by Google chief legal officer David Drummond.
