, TRIPOLI, Apr 9 – State television has broadcast footage of embattled Libyan leader Moamer Kadhafi meeting schoolchildren in the capital Tripoli and said the visit took place on Saturday morning.

The official JANA news agency reported that Kadhafi had paid an "inspection" visit to "Jeel al-Wehda" (Unity Generation) school in the Zenata district of the city.

It said NATO "crusader" aircraft overflew the school in "a terrorist act aimed at terrifying the pupils".

"But the schoolchildren defied this aggression and terror and continued their studies without interruption," JANA said.

"The brother leader of the revolution and commander in chief ordered that the badge of courage be awarded to the pupils, teachers and staff of the school," it added.
