Arap Sang broadcasts his way to the Hague

NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 15 – Vernacular radio station KASS FM’s presenter Joshua arap Sang is among six key suspects named by the ICC Prosecutor.

Arap Sang, as he is popularly known by fans, presents a breakfast show called Lene Emet which is not new to controversy.

The station has on several occasions clashed with the Communications Commission of Kenya (CCK) on grounds that some of its content; mainly on the breakfast show was in contravention of the law.

Mr Sang is accused of having aired programmes before and during the 2007 elections, which may have led to incitement at the time of the violence.

Mr Sang is the Head of Station.

According to the station’s website, Kass FM broadcasts in Kalenjin and is currently the leading radio station in the entire Rift Valley.

The station broadcasts in the following regions; Nairobi and its environs including Machakos, Thika, Kiambu and Limuru.

It is also heard in Nakuru, Eldoret, Kitale, Baringo, Kapenguria, Timboroa, Gilgil, Naivasha, Bomet, Litein and Kericho.

In the Coast region it airs in Mombasa, Malindi, Mtwapa, Changamwe, Ukunda and Kilifi.

In parts of Western and Nyanza it transmits in Kakamega, Kisumu and Kisii.
