Arm for wife justice in Kisumu

NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 17 – A middle aged man has been admitted to a hospital in Kisumu after his arm was chopped off in a love triangle row.

The incident occurred on Saturday night in Usoma village near Kisumu town.
"The man was attacked by the husband of the woman who he was having an illicit affair with," a witness said.

The 30 year old victim who is a fisherman in Lake Victoria was admitted to the New Nyanza General Hospital in a critical condition.

"He laid an ambush after he suspected that his wife was cheating on him with a neighbor for the last one year," said Charles Ouko, a brother of the jilted man.

He revealed that they have been trying to catch the man in the act to no success until last night.

"My brother who is also a fisherman got suspicious yesterday when his wife insisted that he travels overnight to attend the burial of one of our relatives," Mr Ouko said.

"He pretended to follow his wife\’s advice only to come back later in the night and got the man red handed with his wife. He tried to escape but my brother gave chase and cut his arm."

Kisumu deputy police boss Stephen Ngetich said the arm was taken to the local mortuary.

"The wife is at large but we are following her so that she can record a statement. Her husband is with us and he has given us his side of the story," he said.
