Brazilian president in Kenya for visit

NAIROBI, Kenya, Jul 6 – Brazilian President, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, jetted into the country on Monday  night for a two-day state visit.

The Plane carrying the Brazilian Head of State and his entourage touched down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport shortly after 9.30pm.

The Brazilian leader was accompanied by a large delegation of business executives travelling in a separate plane.

Upon arrival, President da Silva was received by Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka and high level government officials together with Brazilian Embassy officials led by Ambassador Ann Maria Sampaio.

During his stay in Kenya, the Brazilian President is expected to hold bilateral talks with President Mwai Kibaki on matters of mutual interests.

Areas that the two leaders are expected to discuss include Trade and investment, water and irrigation, pharmaceutical industry, agriculture and agro processing among others.
