Kenya mourns with Poland

NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 10 – President Mwai Kibaki has sent a message of condolence to the family of the late President Lech Kaczynski and the people of Poland following the death of the Polish leader and his wife in a plane crash in Western Russia on Saturday.

In his message, President Kibaki said the untimely death has robbed Poland of a charismatic and focused leader who diligently served the country with dedication.

The Head of State said he was deeply saddened by the untimely demise of the Polish leader, the first lady and other members of a state delegation aboard the presidential jet who perished at a time when their services were needed most.
 
The President regretted that the tragic demise of President Kaczynski, the first Lady and other officials is not only a big loss to their families but also to the nation which they served with commitment.

“The government and the people of Kenya solemnly join me in extending this message of condolence to the people of Poland, the government and members of the bereaved families,” the statement issued from State House, Nairobi said.

President Kibaki prayed to the almighty God to grant the bereaved families and the people of Poland the strength and fortitude to bear the losses.
