KAMPALA, Feb 17 – Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni sacked his finance minister Ezra Suruma in a cabinet reshuffle and handed his wife a ministerial post, his office said onTuesday.
Suruma will remain a financial advisor to the president, while Janet Museveni was appointed minister of state for Karamoja, a remote region in northwestern Uganda, a statement said.
Museveni appointed his brother Salim Saleh, who had been a state minister for micro-finance, as a new defence advisor, the statement said.
The Ugandan cabinet comprises 24 ministers and 45 junior ministers.
