Stars slaughter hapless Djibouti

NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 6 – Francis Ouma bagged a hat trick in Harambee Stars 5-1 thrashing of Djibouti in the Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) Senior Challenge Cup in Jinja on Tuesday.

The result brings an emphatic end to the goal drought that had plagued the side in the initial stages of the tournament after they failed to find the back of the net against Sudan and Zambia last week.

Ouma put Stars 2-0 up at the interval and the 2008 Kenya Premier League (KPL) Golden Boot winner added his third in the second half with defenders George Owino and Joseph Shikokoti adding the extras to complete the rout.

Stars now share top spot in Group B with Zambia with five points with the standings likely to change after the result of the Sudan-Burundi tie.
