Nyaundi takes over FIDA council

NAIROBI, August 28 – The FIDA Kenya Council has a new Executive Director in Patricia Nyaundi.

She succeeds Jane Onyango, who left last month after serving the organisation for more than ten years.

In a statement sent to newsrooms, FIDA touts Nyaundi as having a wealth of experience in gender and human rights following her previous engagements at FIDA Kenya.

Nyaundi also worked at the Child Legal Aid Centre, a children’s rights organisation based in Eldoret, where she served as Programme Manager.

From that organisation, she joined FIDA Kenya, and was the Senior Programme Officer in charge of the Women’s Rights and Monitoring Advocacy Programme before Thursday’s appointment.

She is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and holds a Master in Human Rights Law from the University of Cape Town, plus a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Nairobi.
