Kimanzi announces Stars squad

, NAIROBI, August 20 – Harambee Stars coach Francis Kimanzi has called up five players ahead of the forthcoming crucial World Cup qualifier against Namibia.

Mathare United Goalkeeper Duncan Ochieng is back in the fold after a spell out while Evans Amuoka gets his first call up.

Ulinzi’s Munandi Mulinge, Victor Mugabe of Germinal Beerschot of Belgium, and Sweden based Jamal Mohammed are also back in the national side.

Conspicuously missing in lethal striker Dennis Oliech who is suspended after accumulating two yellow cards. But his brother Andrew Oyombe who was called up before the Zimbabwe match has kept his place in the team.

There is also no place for first choice goalkeeper Arnold Origi who has not fully recovered from a serious knee injury sustained in the team’s match against Zimbabwe.

The team will proceed to camp at the Moi International Sports Centre on August 25 ahead of their match against the Brave Warriors which is set for September 6 in Nairobi.

Stars will then travel to Conakry for their final group game in October.

Stars currently sit in second place in Group two of the 2010 World Cup qualifying group with seven points from four matches.

Guinea currently leads the group with on goal difference with Zimbabwe third and Namibia bottom with three points and still wide open with all teams still in with a chance of qualifying.
