\nBrazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen winds up her Kenya tour on Friday this week with a tree planting exercise at the UNEP offices in Nairobi.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s been invited by the local chapter of Practical Action, a non-governmental organisation that deals with several development projects across the country.<\/p>\n

Gisele landed on a BA flight on Sunday night, and heads to Kisumu on Monday for several days.<\/p>\n

According to an official from Practical Action, she was scheduled to visit projects that deal with energy and indoor air pollution in the lake side city.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe should be there for a few days,\u201d Capital Lifestyle was told.<\/p>\n

Gisele, 31, will also visit a micro hydra-energy project in the Mount Kenya area, before visiting several other projects in Kirinyaga District. She is also due to meet with officials from the Ministry of Environment.<\/p>\n

Practical Action’s activities are divided up as follows: reducing vulnerability, making markets work for poor people, and improving access to infrastructure services.<\/p>\n

The mother of one, who has been described by Catwalk Queen Naomi Campbell as one of the true remaining supermodels, was appointed as a UNEP Goodwill ambassador in 2009.<\/p>\n

She was feted last year, receiving the \u2018Best Green International Celebrity\u2019 at the International Green Awards in London on November 24.<\/p>\n

The model was acknowledged for using her media prominence to promote positive environmental behaviour.<\/p>\n

In her blog<\/a>, she believes that being responsible is the new fashion. She is tasked with highlighting the challenges of threats such as climate change, loss of biodiversity and environmental degradation.<\/p>\n

Gisele, who shot to fame during her five-year relationship with actor Leonardo Di Caprio, has modelled for Victoria Secrets lingerie before launching her own line in May 2011 \u2013 Gisele Bundchen Intimates.<\/p>\n

Wikipedia quotes her fortune at $70 million and according to Forbes could be well on her way to billionaire status.<\/p>\n
