Pocket squares<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Pocket squares have been there for a very long time in fact by the 1900s every fashionable man owned at least one. These are basically kerchiefs (hemmed squares of fabric) but when worn as accessories for your suit they are appropriately known as pocket squares<\/strong>.They add that little something to your suited look in general.<\/p>\n

Generally, a pocket square should complement one\u2019s tie or shirt and shouldn\u2019t match either. Matching the tie is not necessary (that\u2019s a thing of the early 1900s) unless you prefer it that way. And if that is the case then the color being matched should be of a secondary color not the main color.<\/p>\n

Good quality Pocket squares are made of Linen, cotton and silk and they are best worn on the suit jacket\u2019s left breast pocket.<\/p>\n

The white pocket squares are for everyone and are safer for you can never go wrong wearing one. The printed ones with elegant designs ad prints are for the bold in fashion…those who know that for sure they can pull the look off without a doubt.<\/p>\n

Tips:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

#<\/span><\/strong>The pointy pocket squares should have the pointed part pointing away from your heart.<\/p>\n

#<\/span><\/strong>The label on your pocket square (if it has one) should never show (no bragging about the designer).<\/p>\n

#<\/span><\/strong>Contrasting the textures is good. Try pairing a smooth satin silk tie with a linen or handwoven silk pocket square.<\/p>\n

#<\/span><\/strong>Smooth textured fabrics like satin silk are best made into larger pocket squares because they tend to sink inside the pocket. The rest of the fabrics are cut into medium-size as they are strong enough not to sink.<\/p>\n

#<\/span><\/strong>If you are not sure how to fold your pocket square it would be best to buy a ready permanently folded one depending on how many folds you want.<\/span><\/p>\n

Presidential<\/span><\/strong> – This one is folded at right angles to fit in the pocket<\/strong><\/p>\n

One point fold<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 This is folded diagonally with the point showing<\/p>\n

Two point fold<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 This is folded off-center so the two points do not completely overlap<\/p>\n

Three point fold <\/strong><\/span>\u2013 This is first folded into a triangle, and then the corners are folded up and across to make three points.<\/p>\n

Four point fold<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 This is an off-center version of the Three-point Fold<\/p>\n

Others include: The flat pocket square, puff, double point roll, dunaway, four mountains, four point crown, one point roll, rolled puff, three stairs, winged puff, presidential pocket square, wedding pocket square among many others.<\/strong><\/p>\n
