Looking back to 2012, I\u2019ve traveled to different places, met and enjoyed the company of different people, and have experienced different things.\u00a0 It was a great year indeed, but one thing has remained as a constant issue, regrettably so, and that is why I am writing this plea to all of the women out there.\u00a0 Simply put, why don\u2019t some women don’t care about what whiff<\/i> they put out. This is pretty sad, for the people that have to sit in close quarters with you<\/i> and it\u2019s more pathetic that these women that I\u2019m speaking of can afford to smell good, but just don’t care.<\/p>\n
People need to realize that you may look like a million bucks but if you don’t smell right, it doesn’t matter.\u00a0 Reeking<\/i> is totally unacceptable especially for those who can afford to. Do not reek<\/i>!<\/p>\n
So, here are some basic dos and don’ts that we all<\/i> (especially to office women that pour perfume on themselves to mask what their real smell is like) should remember for the year 2013!\u00a0 Here\u2019s to a smell-tastic year!<\/p>\n
8 ways to have an acceptable, if not pleasant scent throughout the day (and NO, it\u2019s not an expensive perfume):<\/strong><\/p>\n 1. Please constantly take a bath\/shower!! It doesn’t take that long.. it is actually therapeutic and fun!! And it\u2019s normal! So just do it, for the sake of others and yourself.\u00a0 You don\u2019t want some creepy crawlers calling your skin as home<\/i>.\u00a0 If you are one to sweat a lot like me, try doing it twice a day when you wake up and when you get home in the evening. Please brush your teeth while you’re at it!!<\/p>\n 2. If you have hair anywhere, this means there will be a lot of clogged sweat and germs.\u00a0 Take extra care and take time to wash it!! \u00a0If you can take time and go to the salon at least once a week – this is mostly for dreads and Mbalas (weaves) \u2013 YOU CAN KEEP YOURSELF FRESH. \u00a0It gets hot, oily and dirty up there, so please just take time and wash and also dry it thoroughly so it\u2019s not damp. Dampness will encourage bad odour.<\/p>\n 3. Say it with me: \u201cDEODORANT!!!\u201d Please people, there is one as cheap as Sh 86.00 that works OK. \u00a0Please make a point to make sure your clean hard work is guaranteed with some anti-perspirant or deodorant.\u00a0 Body splashes and perfumes also help. Don’t swim in it though, that\u2019s also not a pleasant odour.\u00a0 Please take a shower first before applying!!<\/p>\n 4 more tips continued on next page<\/em><\/strong> 4. Wear clean undergarments.\u00a0 Ladies, constantly disinfect and soak your tiny whities and then rinse them thoroughly.\u00a0 A woman\u2019s pH level down there is pretty sensitive, so try and not use too much softener or perfumed stuff.\u00a0 It can total upset things down there. Also try and use Cotton especially during menses and constantly change!! Polyester blended underwear restrict the breathability.\u00a0 And when it gets moist down there, it will STINK!<\/p>\n 5. I know this is weird but it helps. You can smell yourself to see of you are emitting any bad odor.\u00a0 It\u2019s better to catch it yourself before you\u2019re TOLD by someone else.\u00a0 Then take necessary measures\u2026<\/p>\n 6. Please if you know you have smelly feet, do the usual; dry properly, put powder, remove hidden dirt under the nails, constantly do pedicures, and clean and air your shoes!! \u00a0Come on\u2026you don’t expect to wear your shoes all the time and not smell if you don’t give them a break. Clean them and let them air-out once in a while.\u00a0 Please be considerate of your colleagues or schoolmates who sit close to you.<\/p>\n 7. Please be conscious of your surroundings. It’s not fair to other people around you if you smell – FOUL. It’s not an easy subject to bring up so as much as they are sensitive to your feelings, be sensitive to their noses.<\/p>\n 8. If you reek<\/i> and don’t know why please go see a doctor. They will tell you why..
