Lover boy Jah Cure jetted into Nairobi this morning ahead of his first ever concert in Kenya slated for the Kasarani Sports Complex tomorrow.<\/p>\n

Real name Siccaturie Alcock, the 34-year-old musician is fondly referred to as the High Priest of Reggae.<\/p>\n

One of the first things he did before heading to his hotel at about 4.40am was take a picture on Haile Sellasie Avenue, in celebration of his rasta roots.<\/p>\n

The singer\/songwriter got into music in the early 90s and rose to fame within that decade, before his rise was curtailed by a stint in prison.<\/p>\n

While driving around in 1998, the musician was pulled over by police and arrested for gun possession, robbery and rape. He served 8 of his 15-year sentence and immediately started performing a month after he was released.<\/p>\n

Uncommon to most musicians, he continued recording music while in jail via a digital recording studio, churning out three albums and several singles.<\/p>\n

Jah Cure\u2019s slightly gritty voice is well liked, especially on hit songs like Call on Me and Unconditional Love.<\/p>\n
