In this article, I will take you on a journey through the unforgettable activities offered at at the Lodge, from guided game drives to farm tours, and why I believe it is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the serenity of the African wilderness.

Game drives

Embark on an unforgettable adventure and explore the African wilderness with guided game drives. Their experienced guides will take you on a journey through the vast 60,000-acre sanctuary.

As the sun rises, we set out on our morning game drives, where the savannah comes alive with the sounds of nature. Watch as the wildlife awakens, and the plains become a hive of activity. As we continued on our drive, the guide provided fascinating insights into the wildlife behaviour and their importance in the ecosystem.

For those wanting to venture further afield, Tsavo National Park is only a forty-five-minute drive away. Tsavo West is home to some of the most extraordinary scenery; from the awe-inspiring Shetani Lava Flow and Caves, to the oasis that is Mzima Springs. Tsavo East is bordered by the Galana River and home to the Kanderi Swamps, both vital water sources in the dry season and as a result home to large numbers of wildlife herds, and the ever-present predators.

One thing that stood out to me during the game drive was the respect and care that our guide showed towards the wildlife. He ensured that we kept a safe distance from the animals, and never intruded on their natural habitats. Although we did not get to see the elusive leopard and powerful lion, it was still wonderful drive. I was pleased to see that the lodge prioritises the safety and well-being of the wildlife.

Overall, my game drive experience at was truly memorable. It was a unique opportunity to witness the beauty and diversity of African wildlife in their natural habitat. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to experience the thrill of a safari and connect with nature on a deeper level.

Magical Sundowners

Ah, the sundowners! It was one of the most delightful experiences of my stay.

After a long day of game drives and other activities, we made our orders for the refreshing cocktails and snacks, we then made our way to the sundowner deck.

As the sun began to set, the sky turned into a mesmerizing mix of oranges and pinks, and we were treated to an unforgettable view of the hills. Our guide provided us with fascinating insights into the wildlife we had encountered during the day, as we sipped on our cocktails and savored the delicious snacks.

My favourite part of the sundowners were the different locations to watch the sunset, for all the three full days we spent there, we had our sundowners at three different amazing spots by the lodge. My favourite spot was the Leopard deck because we also got to enjoy a bonfire!

The atmosphere was relaxed and peaceful, with the sounds of the wilderness providing the perfect backdrop to the experience. As we watched the sun dip below the horizon, we felt grateful for the chance to experience the beautiful scenery.

The sundowners at are a must-try experience for anyone visiting. It’s a wonderful way to connect with nature.

Farm tour

One of the most fascinating experiences during my stay at the lodge was the farm tour. As someone who as grown up with a family with lots of farmers and well into agriculture, I was eager to learn more about the farm and how it supports the local communities.

The farm is the second-largest sisal producer in the world and supports thousands of families in the region. The guided tour provided us with a detailed insight into the processing and usage of the eco-friendly plant. It was amazing to see how every part of the plant is utilized, from the leaves to the fibers, and how it helps to support local communities.

Aside from sisal, the farm also boasts arable, fish farm, poultry farm and hydroponic projects run off the wastewater from the factory. The hydroponic project was particularly impressive, as it allowed for the growth of crops without soil, using water and nutrients to support the plants. It was a truly innovative approach to farming, and a great example of sustainable agriculture.

Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, and we were able to ask questions and learn about the different projects on the farm. It was a unique and enlightening experience and I left with a newfound appreciation for the impact of agriculture on local communities and the environment.

If you’re interested in agriculture or eco-friendly practices, I highly recommend taking the farm tour at. It’s a wonderful opportunity to learn and connect with the local community, while experiencing innovative and sustainable farming practices firsthand.

The pool area is also equipped with comfortable loungers, perfect for relaxing and soaking up the sun while sipping on a refreshing drink or reading a book. The serene surroundings and tranquil atmosphere make for a perfect retreat away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Bike riding is a unique and thrilling way to explore the vast and beautiful wilderness that surrounds the lodge. The lodge offers guests the opportunity to explore the sanctuary on a guided bike ride, which is a great way to get up close and personal with the natural beauty of the area.

The activity is suitable for riders of all levels, from beginners to more experienced riders. The knowledgeable guides will provide you with all the necessary equipment, including a helmet, and give you a briefing on the route. They ennsure that you are comfortable and safe throughout the ride.

The bike ride takes you through the stunning sisal plantation, giving you a unique insight into the life of the people who work on the farm. It’s a must-do activity for anyone looking for an adventurous and exciting way to explore the area during their stay.

Bonfire

One of the most memorable experiences is gathering around the bonfire in the sitting area as you watch the views of animals coming to cool off at the waterpoint. As the sun sets and the sky turns orange, the sounds of the African wilderness surround you, making it an unforgettable moment. The Lodge provides a perfect ambiance for a bonfire, with comfortable outdoor seating, warm blankets, and a breathtaking view of the wild animals visiting the waterhole.
