Gina-Din Kariuki hosts High Tea in Honour of U.S. Ambassador to Kenya Meg Whitman

Great food and great company are the two life’s simplest yet great pleasures.

(Rtd) Captain Chris B Kariuki, his wife Mrs Gina Din-Kariuki, a businesswoman and Africa’s most awarded PR authority, and their son Naythan Kariuki, recently hosted a welcoming high tea at their residence in Nairobi, to welcome to Kenya, the new United States Ambassador to Kenya, Her Excellency Margaret “Meg” Whitman and her husband, Dr. Griffith Harsh IV, a renowned Neuro surgeon.

An afternoon high tea is the perfect opportunity to get together.

Meg Whitman was confirmed in a unanimous vote by the U.S. Senate as the eighteenth United States Ambassador to Kenya on July 14, 2022. She presented her credentials to His Excellency, then President Uhuru Kenyatta, on August 5, 2022.

Ambassador Whitman has significant experience leading business organizations, from start-ups to large multinational companies in Silicon Valley. She has served as the President and CEO of Hewlett Packard Enterprise and the Hewlett-Packard Company, both multinational information technology companies. She also served as President and CEO of eBay Inc, an online marketplace and digital payments company.

Ms. Whitman has also been a member of a number of corporate boards of directors, including Procter & Gamble and General Motors.

Guests at the invite only event, who included some of Kenya’s foremost business leaders, civil society, media practitioners, diplomats, lawyers among others, were treated to an unforgettable afternoon of insights, camaraderie, networking and fine dining featuring the very best of Kenyan cuisine. Ghetto Classics, a flagship program of the Art of Music Foundation founded by Elizabeth Njoroge, brought the orchestral music flavor to the afternoon while David Muriithi aka DJ D-Lite was the main man on the decks.
