Kitenge Top. How To Style Your Infinity Crop Top In 5 Cool Ways

Every girl needs a crop top. It is a fun, bold, and fashion-forward yet a versatile attire that flatters one body, a modern wardrobe essential in your closet.

Crops have evolved over the years. Gone are the days when they were worn only in one particular way/ design. Today, one of the growing trends that we love is the African print/ Kitenge crop top. Kitenge is a Kiswahili word for African wax print fabric that is commonly worn in East Africa but did you know this colorful fabric originated from Indonesia? They were then imported by African soldiers and now sold all over the world.

On a sunny beautiful weekend afternoon in Nairobi, this ensemble is the ultimate stylish spin to any woman’s outdoor attire.

There are different styles to wear a crop top.

Here is how to style your kitenge top in the modern trendy looks!

Halter neck

In this style all you have to do is take the two straps and run them from the front of the top around the back of the neck leaving your back uncovered then tying it at the front in a double loop.

Cross body

Take the left or right strap over to your left or right shoulder, wrap it together with the other strap to the back of the neck leaving your back uncovered then tie a double loop at the front

Bandeau

This strapless, sleeveless and off shoulder style only covers the chest area. You can add a little spice by having a section higher up than the other like in the picture below. Tie at the back or the front with a double loop

Puff sleeve

This is a more modest look, covers your sleeves and can either have a deep V neck if you like showing off that cleavage ladies or a full cover of your chest depending on how you like it! Tie the straps at the front or back with a double loop or ribbon.

Let it flow

This style basically lets the top do its thing with zero effort and its still a look. For more firmness tie it around your neck like a scarf and let it flow behind leaving your back uncovered.

A girl can never have too many crop tops: Cute, trendy and stylish.
