YouTube has announced the top watched videos by Kenyans in 2020. The list reveals popular videos uploaded and watched on YouTube, bringing new revelations about what Kenyans turned to YouTube for in 2020.

  1. Dusuma by Otile Brown featuring his Burundian counterpart, Meddy. This song gained momentum after a social media challenge grew around it leading it to surpass 100 million views in 3 months.

2. Rayvanny Ft Messias Maricoa – Teamo

This love song was released at a time when Kenyans were preparing for this year’s Valentine’s Day, making it the second most watched video.

3. Diamond Platnumz – Jeje

4. Sauti Sol – Suzanna — Kenya’s stars released this song as they announced their record deal with Universal Music Africa (UMA), and was received well by the fans.

5.  ‘Gere’ by Tanasha Donna featuring her then partner, Diamond Platnumz is the fifth most watched music video. The song received over a million views in just 13 hours after release.

6. Femi One’s collaboration with Mejja ‘Utawezana’ is the sixth most watched music video in 2020. The song gained popularity after a video of content creator Azziad Nasenya dancing to it went viral, creating an online dance challenge among Kenyans.

8. Kenyan’s love for Otile Brown’s music was extended to his other song ‘Aiyana’ featuring Sanaipei Tande which appeared at number eight.

9. ‘Quarantine’ song by Wasafi featuring Diamond Platnumz, Rayvanny, Mbosso, Lava Lava, Queen Darleen and Zuchu.

10. ‘El-Shaddai’ by H_art the Band also won Kenyans’ hearts with its message of creating awareness on mental health and the importance of saying what you feel as opposed to bottling it up.
